Eco Opportunity
You got an engineering degree, passed the space physical examination, and made sure you measured up – 64 inches to be exact. Yet, NASA has yet to call back.
OK, you get a little motion sick driving up Tantalus. And you freak out when the elevator stalls for more than 15 seconds. So maybe you’re meant to make your impact on the world without leaving it.
Fortunately, the eco has landed.
Apparel line Nuinani just opened a temporary shop in Kailua. Brothers Adam and Ben Worrel feature the full collection of their designs hand-printed on super-soft organic cotton, recycled polyester, and rayon. But there are a few small surprises in store.
Take one small step toward their brand-new kids collection of comfy tees emblazoned with playful whales, welcoming chicks, or colorful palm trees. Browse exclusive jewelry made from vintage postcards by Morgan Lane-Tanner or marvel over the debut of a more affordable line by ki-ele creator Marylea Conrad.
Take one giant leap in the direction of Sseko footwear. The cool leather sandals with interchangeable straps are handmade in Uganda by women working their way toward a university education.
Nuinani’s prices range between $20 and $50 and five percent of every sale goes to the World Children’s Hunger Fund. The store will be open at least through the holidays.
Giving you a thoughtful way to achieve gift off.
Without having to shoot for the moon.
