Eat Local Week at Tango

Tango Contemporary Cafe will host a special menu for KANU Hawaii’s "Eat Local Challenge" from August 8 – 15, 2009.

During the week chef Goran Streng has created a 3-course menu which features locally produced food.

First course
A Trio of Appetizers:

  • Hamakua Mushroom Ragout in puff pastry pillow
  • Maui Onion and Big Island Tomato Salad with Raspberry Vinaigrette
  • Ahi Poke with North Shore Sea Asparagus

Second course
Whole Crispy Moi with seasoned brown rice and vegetables, shiitake ginger soy dressing with sesame and green onion

Third course
Kula Rhubarb and Strawberry Crumble with Cinnamon Ice Cream

The "Eat Local Challege" menu is available from August 8th through the 15th for $38 (plus tax and gratuity) per person.

Then on August 18th, the Tango Contemporary Cafe will host its monthly Third Tuesday at Tango pairing dinner. This month, chef Goran is creating menu selections to be paired with delicious martinis from KAI Vodka.

First course

  • Oyster Shooters
  • Crab Cocktail with Russian Dressing

Paired with a Kai Rise Aperitif

Second course
Medallions of Venison with Juniper Black Currant Sauce, Roasted Beets, and Root Vegetable Puree
Paired with a Kai Pearl Belini

Third course
Lychee Sorbet with Vanilla Infused Kai Lychee Vodka and Fruit Salad
Paired with an Ali‘i Kai

The Third Tuesday at Tango pairing dinner is available for $45.00 plus Tax and Tip. Limited seating.
