DVD & CD Review: Inazuman and One Right Turn

Inazuman

(JN Productions)

Kikaida fans will love Inazuman—more monsters, more action, more Ban Daisuke, the actor who starred in both of these 1970s Japanese superhero series. Inazuman is the superhero moniker of college student Watari Goto, who battles the evil mutants of Emperor Bamba’s Neo-Human Fantom Army. Yes, it’s as surreal as it sounds, and nostalgic fun, too. This boxed set, by Honolulu-based JNProductions, contains all 25 episodes, with fun extras. Available at Shirokiya, Ala Moana Center, and online at www.generationkikaida.com $99.95.

One Right Turn

Lean on My Shoulder

(OneHawaii Music)

Talk about good DNA—this trio comprises two sisters from the musically renowned Cruz family and Imua Garza, formerly of the group Opihi Pickers. The result is One Right Turn’s solid collection of well-scrubbed, poppy originals. Nothing to blow your socks off, but uniformly enjoyable. As if to compensate for its lack of barn-burners, One Right Turn is a ridiculously prolific team: This group debut is also available as a box set that includes full-on solo albums from each of the members.
