A 5-course Dinner of Aphrodisiac Delights – $95 per Guest, Vegetarian $75
Do aphrodisiac foods really spark the magic of love? Science just might be on your side with this Cupid-inspired multi-course meal of sensuality.
Course 1-2-3
Kualoa Ranch Oyster, Chile Pepper Water Gelee, Calamansi
Oysters are high in zinc and have a reputation for being great for love and fertility. Casanova agrees.
Kaua‘i Shrimp, Mint, Basil, Arugula, Feta
While legend has it that women used to use Basil as body powder for its sensual aroma, Arugula, a peppery plant, has been documented as an aphrodisiac since the first century A.D.
Chile Watermelon Granita- Gazpacho
Chili has an exotic reputation and a bright red color, which is why it's considered a symbol of love and Watermelon is a 'lycopene king' that may have a Viagra-like effect on the body, as it relaxes blood vessels and improves circulation.
Entrée – choice of:
Duck Breast with Local Orange-Cognac Demi-Glace, Roasted New and Sweet Potato, Asparagus
A lesser-known aphrodisiac, Duck Breast is sure to seduce your taste buds, if not your senses.
Local Cocoa-Coffee-Chile Rubbed Tenderloin, Roasted Potato, Asparagus
Who doesn’t like a rub on their tenderloin? While the caffeine in coffee is a stimulant that ups the heart rate and makes the blood flow, cocoa is sensual, from its taste to its aroma, and causes a spike in dopamine, which induces feelings of pleasure.
Local Asparagus, Potato, Zucchini, Roasted Carrots, Cauliflower Puree
Asparagus is often considered to be an aphrodisiac because of its suggestive shape. It’s also a great source of Vitamin E, which is involved in stimulating the production of sex hormones in both men and women, therefore increasing the sex drive.
Dessert
Vanilla Bean Panna Cotta, Compressed Strawberries, Fresh Liliko‘i, Local Honey
Strawberries make this a vitamin C-packed dessert that helps keep blood flowing to all regions of the body, and honey is made through pollination and is a symbol of procreation. Plus, passionfruit. Birds and bees ring a bell?
