The Good Table is a unique synchronized dining event scheduled on Thursday, October 7th at 6 p.m., at dozens of Oahu’s most popular restaurants. Select restaurants, ranging from casual eateries to the Island’s most recognizable fine dining establishments, will serve a special, chef-designed feast for pre-purchased tables in their restaurants.

Proceeds from the purchased tables directly support Lanakila Meals on Wheels to provide meals and support for Hawaii’s elderly in need. Lanakila Meals on Wheels is Hawaii’s largest and only island-wide meal provider to homebound kupuna.

A number of Hawaii restaurants participate in this exceptional event, including a number of Hale Aina Award-winning restaurants. Diners purchase tables in pre-designated categories and are notified of their restaurant selection through a drawing, once table sales are closed. For an additional donation, diners also have the option to select a specific restaurant and not be placed in the drawing. To purchase a table and learn more menu details about the participating restaurants, visit www.thegoodtablehawaii.org or call 531-0555.

“We are so thrilled to bring this special evening to the public once again, after last year’s tremendous success,” said Marian Tsuji, president and CEO of Lanakila Pacific. “With a growing senior population and a weakened economy, our kupuna really need our help. The Good Table truly turns one great meal into many for Hawaii’s elderly in need.”

In 2009, proceeds from pre-purchased tables provided more than 6,400 meals to seniors in need. For this year’s patrons, the difference between the donation from the table purchase and retail value of meals is tax deductible to the full extent allowable by law.

To participate and purchase your table today, visit www.thegoodtablehawaii.org or call 531-0555. Purchase your table by September 23rd.
