Custom Diamond Head home on and over the ocean
|
This new listing hit the market last week, and it’s a nice home to see (whether you can afford it or not) to imagine the possibilities in living efficiently. If it has another open house, mark your calendars to take a look.

The 11,580-square-foot lot is located on Kaikoo St.—one block over from Black Point—so it's a very upscale neighborhood. The original home was strictly facing the street, but the owner extended the home toward the ocean, so between the original home and the new extension, there are two beautiful inside/outside courtyard areas. The back of the house directly faces the ocean, and has a unique permitted deck overhanging the ocean. (This is a feature from a grandfathered permit, which is no longer legal in new homes.)

The 5,162-square-foot residence is three stories, but it seems like four, since upon entering the home, there are stairs up to an office, on its own dedicated floor, peering at Diamond Head and the ocean.

The entry level is home to the upper master bedroom and includes a long elegant hallway accessing the newer part of the home. The floor below entry level has a game room, living room, kitchen, and two additional bedrooms. A set of stairs leading out of the kitchen lead down the lower level, where the pool deck is, outside bar, wine cellar, and the permitted overhang. There are a total of four bedrooms, four bathrooms, and two half baths.

It features many "smart home" functions including computer-controlled lights, home alarm and more. The theater has a state-of-the-art sound system, projector screen, wet bar and more, and also doubles as a game room with pool table, etc. There's also a TV room attached, if you want to watch TV by the ocean instead of going down to the theater room. The kitchen focuses on functionality, with large counters and a center island. (Click here for details.)
