It’s one of Hawai‘i’s most iconic dishes, adored by locals and visitors alike. But kalua pig can seem like an intimidating dish for some cooks. Enter Foodland’s Instant Pot kalua pig and cabbage, which is simplifies the process with no corners cut when it comes to flavor. Just cut, marinate, add to the Instant Pot and, 75 minutes later, dinner is served.

Packed with protein and quick to cook, salmon is the perfect choice for when you want to feel fancy without too much effort. This furikake-scallion mayo baked salmon is minimal prep and takes about 15 minutes to bake. The addition of chopped scallions and lemon juice keep this dish bright against the mayo and naturally rich salmon.
Kim Chee Taegu Dip
This Korean-fusion dish might cause your purist halmeoni (grandmother) to gasp—until she tries it. While admittedly not a traditional Korean recipe, this kim chee taegu dip, created by chef Keoni Chang, is undeniably addicting, especially when paired with buttery-sweet Ritz crackers.
Air Fryer Crab Rangoons

As longtime fans of anything with cream cheese or fried, we were thrilled to see Foodland’s air fryer crab rangoons. This recipe calls for just five ingredients and requiring no deep frying, saving you the annoying oily aftermath and extra calories. Whip these up for your next dinner party or potluck and watch them disappear.
Kakimochi Chocolate Chip Cookies
We’ve never met a chocolate chip cookie we didn’t like, and these kakimochi chocolate chip cookies always have us coming back for more. Chef Keoni Chang’s twist on the classic treat adds mochi crunch and a sprinkle of furikake, lending some umami, savory notes and a nice crunch to each bite. It’s the ultimate sweet-savory combination, local style!
