Swimming with sharks. Tow-in surfing. Hiking au naturel to a mauka waterfall. Yeah, you’ll try anything once, but for something to become habit you have to completely fall in love (like you did with eating lilikoi-lemon cupcakes ).
So meet kindred spirit Janie Coltrin, a former musician and songwriter who, when given a camera for the first time, thought only that she’d just go ahead and try it.
During her first official photo shoot (photographing a chair where Elizabeth Taylor once sat), she was hooked, and today she captures the essence of exceptional properties as an architectural photographer. But that new challenge has now presented 
another: creating vibrant, larger-than-life fine art images from inspiring discoveries in the environment.
Coltrin’s bold images, available in prints, giclees or handmade notecards, communicate unusual details and combinations of natural and cultural icons. There’s a sensual close up of a brilliant jade flower, a heart-shape formed by an unfolding elephant ear leaf, and a lizard barely noticeable next to a hibiscus flower resting in the hands of a Buddha statue. Her photographs, custom graphic designs, and web site development services all reveal a fresh, animated connection with the flow of nature.
Like seeing it for the very first time.
