Colorful home accessories abound in Quince's Kakaako shop

A Home Run

Quince

Home is where the heart is. Especially if that home is filled with bright, eye-popping accents that perfectly capture your love of pattern and color.

Sadly, yours is not. At least, not until Saturday, when Quince, a brand new home accessories shop, opens its doors in Kakaako.

Owner Marissa Selders uses her experience in fashion, retail and interior design to fill the space with modern, whimsical pieces designed to transform any room into a stylish abode.

Quince Don't let your closet have all the fun. Dress up your dining table with glossy melanine French Bull serving trays, platters, or lazy susans in multi-hued kaleidoscope and poppy designs. Top your counter with colorblocking wood lacquered trays and matching Paddywax ceramic candles.

Add modern, yet playful touches with bold, laser-cut placemats, candy-colored wire stools and sleek nesting tables. Then accessorize with whimsy: oversized jacks, shiny robot banks, colorful cooking timers, and heart-melting pug-shaped bookends.

Selders is also happy to lend a hand (and her pooch, Ari, a paw) if you don't know where to start. Our recommendation: Selders' own custom-made throw and lumbar pillows, a stylish mix of fabrics, colored piping and exposed zippers.

Trust us, your couch will thank you.

Quince officially opens Saturday at 683 Auahi St., adjacent to Pinch of Salt. Hours are Tuesdays-Saturdays, 10:30 a.m.-6:30 p.m., and during Honolulu Night Market. For more information, call (808) 371-4413 or visit QuinceatHome.com.
