Chic and Sweet Kidswear from RAMA
Bright prints, breathable fabrics and totally grown-up styles are the name of this game.

It’s not easy being a modern girl. Between recesses, snack times and naps, your day is totally booked. You barely have time to throw on sparkly, strawberry-flavored lip gloss, grab your sippy cup of orange juice, snap up your Lisa Frank backpack and run out the door in time for home room. If you keep letting your busy schedule get in the way of your style game, you’re going to start looking like a fourth grader by the time you’re 6 years old. What’s a tot to do?
Thank goodness for the new kids resort collection from RAMA. These flouncy frocks and frilly dresses were designed by owner Ruhi Shah, whose print selections are inspired by vibrant Indian fabrics, clothing, art and paintings, so pint-size fashionistas will stand out on the playground. Patterns including meandering florals alongside curlicue vines, stylized botanicals and geometrics with a block-print feel. The cuts are just the right mix of feminine and no-fuss: Think ruched spaghetti straps paired with tastefully frilled hems and wrap-front V-neck dresses with full, twirlable skirts.
These outfits are perfect for throwing on during your next play date with the tow-headed heartthrob from down the street, especially since Shah also makes the sweetest little button-downs for boys. She takes the same sassy approach to prints and patterns (we love the mini-yet-masculine print of navy diamonds on understated cream shown here), so you two can match like two adorable peas in an adorable pod.
The RAMA styles are all made of breathable woven cotton (none of those cloying knit fabrics that get in the way of frolicking) and manufactured in Honolulu by Shah and her team of fashion-minded interns. The interns get a taste of both business and creative work, helping to design, manufacture, source material, style photos, price the pieces, pitch to boutiques and market the items through social media.
Getting dressed tomorrow is going to be child’s play.
