Lei: Shhh! You’re gonna get us in trouble.

Student: Where did you get that bracelet? It's off the chain!

Lei: This Wish bracelet? My friend Kennedy made it.

Student: Kennedy Mulleneaux? She’s a junior at Kalani High School, right? Her mom owns that cute store in Kaimuki?

Lei: Sugarcane Shop. When Kennedy's mom, Jill Hatch-Fong, broke her favorite bracelet Kennedy mixed and restrung the beads on colorful cords. Customers thought the look was so twine, Jill started selling them.

Student: Seriously, those are too jewel for school.

Lei: Yeah, Kennedy's a real gem fatale. When she’s not in class, she’s at estate sales and thrift stores with her mom hunting for unique delicate crystals, stones, coral, and she’s definitely a pearl’s best friend.

Student: I just love the color combinations like that amethyst on the baby blue thread or the pearl on hunter green. The cord is long enough that I could wear it as a necklace, anklet, or bracelet. Am I starting to bauble?

Lei: Kind of. My guy friends even love them. Be sure to make a wish when you tie a bracelet on. When it falls off, the story goes, your wish comes true.

Student: She’s really thought about this from every bangle. Okay, you've twisted my charm. I’ll get one asap.
