Chains of Cool

Lei Chic Dearly beloved,

We are gathered here today to join jewelry line, Mixe Medium, and urban artist, Remi Mead, in stylish matrimony.

This creative union began when Waipahu designer Ericka Nicole Bueno fell in love with Mead's artwork, her whimsical characters and bright pops of color. So she decided to break from her usual dark, edgy style and reach out to the artist. Behold, a fun, eye-catching collection of chain armor jewelry was born.

Lei Chic May I have the earrings please…

Mixe, will we love these dangling cross earrings with antique gold spikes, and gold chain ear cuffs? Will we cherish the hand chains with two-toned woven detail, cross and skull charms and diamond cut chains?

You will.

And Remi, did you honor your artistic influence by choosing vibrant neon and pastel colors in pinks, yellows, purples and blues for each piece? Did you create an edgy new character known as the "Mixe-girl," who wears this jewelry in your artwork?

I did.

Then, by the powers invested in me, I now pronounce this a successful collaboration.

You may now dress with pride.

$12-$32. Mixe Medium x Remi Mead will make its official debut at The Co-Op Shop, Saturday, 12-6 p.m., at Rumours Nightclub in Ala Moana Hotel. Free admission, all ages welcome.
