Centers of Attention

Lei Chic Checkbook – Nope.
Dating life – Not even close.
Office hours versus personal time – Don’t even ask.

Clearly balancing things is not your forte.

You stumble through life on three-inch stilettoes, always teetering on that fine line between brilliance (your outfit) and disaster (your budget).

Fortunately one playful part of your world is always on point – Your favorite mobile sculpture by Bob Thomas.

Lei Chic Inspired by master mobile maker Alexander Calder, retired tour guide and carpenter Thomas began creating and selling his moveable art in local swap meets years ago. But the whimsical pieces had been off the market until last month when they popped up in new vintage and eco-friendly focused shop Stand Up 8.

Each mobile is cut, shaped, and painted by hand from aluminum, galvanized wire, and found items such as buttons and other scraps. Thomas balances each colorful mobile perfectly on its curved, sculpted base so even spin masters won’t knock it off.

Meaning next time your world is  off-kilter you can relax with eye candy that’s always even.

Now that's a stylish way to find your center.

Bob Thomas sculptures are sold exclusively at Stand Up 8, 1133 S. King St. Tues. – Wed. 10 a.m. – 3 p.m., Thurs. – Sat. 10 a.m. – 8 p.m. Call the store at 808.593.4414 for more information.
