WOLFGANG’S STEAKHOUSE BY WOLFGANG ZWIENER in the Royal Hawaiian Center will be celebrating the modern Japanese tradition of “White Day” with a special offer. The restaurant has also introduced a new "Surf ‘N Turf" item to their menu.
On Sunday, March 14, 2010 from 5 to 10:30 p.m., diners will receive two complimentary white truffles for dessert per person, with any dinner entrée.
“White Day” is a spin on the traditions of Valentine’s Day. In Japan, it’s the women who give milk or dark chocolates to men on February 14th. So in response, "White Day" was created by the National Confectionary Association in Japan to try and get men to buy something for the women who gave them chocolates. Men give white chocolates or other white gifts (jewelry, lingerie, cookies, etc.) to women.

Wolfgang’s Steakhouse will help out these men by offering the two complimentary white truffles on March 14th.
“We invite local and visiting Japanese to celebrate ‘White Day’ with us, and hope to share this tradition with kama‘aina and western malihini, as well, for the very first time,” said Bill Nickerson, Wolfgang’s Steakhouse GM. “It’s a new thing for me, too, but we thought it would be a fun idea to do something special for ‘White Day’ right here in Honolulu.”
The restaurant will also be introducing a delicious new menu item, the Surf ‘N Turf.
Available for $65, the Surf ‘N Turf includes a 9 oz. Prime Grade Filet Mignon, a 14-16 oz. Australian Lobster Tail and a complimentary glass of champagne.
It’s the perfect entrée choice to celebrate your "White Day."
