Celebrate Earth Day at Bishop Museum’s Science & Sustainability Festival featuring keiki activities, workshops, exhibition highlights, special presentations, and interactive performances that offer opportunities to engage with scientific research and sustainability efforts.
Museum Researchers and Community Partners
Bishop Museum researchers, as well as more than 25 community partners, will showcase their work across the Pacific — ranging from native plants, invasive species control, deep sea biodiversity exploration, and collections preservation as a source of inspiration for building a sustainable future.

Special Presentations
Listen to “Meet the Experts Talks” throughout the day featuring scientists, researchers, and cultural practitioners on the front lines in biodiversity research and conservation efforts in Hawai‘i. With a keynote presentation from Ernie Lau and the Oʻahu Water Protectors.

Exhibits
Explore exhibits including Backyard Adventures, an interactive science exhibit that engages the next generation of citizen scientists, and Ola Ka Noʻeau: Excellence in Hawaiian Artistry, which highlights the genealogy of Hawaiian artistry, through generational transmission of knowledge.
Entertainment
Enjoy live music by Nā Hōkū Hanohano award nominee Chardonnay and an interactive performance with Dancers Unlimited. Food and drink vendors will also be on the Great Lawn throughout the day.
