(Sponsored) Hawaii Food & Wine Festival’s second annual HMAA Presents Keiki in the Kitchen: Food, Fitness & Fun!

On Saturday, September 12, 2015 from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Keiki in the Kitchen will provide once-in-a-lifetime experiences for children and families to interact with celebrity chefs, learn about healthy eating and active lifestyles, and gain knowledge about Hawaii’s local agriculture. Created for the community, Keiki in the Kitchen will offer a healthy cooking demonstration by Chef William Chen of freshBOX, various fitness activities including CrossFit, karate, yoga, balance exercises, celebrity chef autograph signing sessions and photo opportunities, craft and educational booths, and a new “Made in Hawaii” marketplace.

For all the young aspiring chefs out there, Hawaii Food & Wine Festival invites you to submit your very own healthy, creative, and original lunchtime recipe!

Kellogg’s and Foodland are presenting the Healthy Lunchtime Challenge for keiki in two age categories (8 to 12 and 13 to 17 ). Contestants with the top three recipes from each age category will be invited to prepare their dish LIVE at Keiki in the Kitchen in front of event-goers and present their dishes on stage for tasting and scoring by celebrity chef judges William Chen, Elizabeth Falkner, and Iron Chef Jose Garces.

First place winners from each age category will be awarded an exciting “Keiki Night Out” party for 10 at Roy’s Restaurant or Alan Wong’s with a special appearance by the chef and a two-night stay in an oceanfront room at the Outrigger Reef on the Beach or Outrigger Waikiki.
