Best Doctors in Hawaii 2012

Our annual “Best Doctors” list is researched by Best Doctors in America®, which surveys physicians nationwide, asking, “If you or a loved one needed a doctor in your specialty, to whom would you refer them?” From that survey, we share the Hawaii doctors with our readers.

The process is more extensive than that, and you can read about it in detail at the Best Doctors website, bestdoctors.com. The list is impartial, and no doctor may buy his or her way onto the list—two reasons we’ve trusted it as a source.

The Best Doctors in America® list totals more than 45,000 physicians and specialists—the top 5 percent of all the nation’s doctors, so the 390 Hawaii doctors listed here are the best of the best. However, that doesn’t mean you should worry if you don’t see your current doctor here. The Best Doctors in America® methodology favors specialists and doctors at larger, urban hospitals, who are more likely to have a higher profile than their peers at smaller, rural facilities.
