Are you ready for HONOLULU Fashion Week?

In the coming weeks, join us as we reveal more about the creative teams, designers and events at the first-ever HONOLULU Fashion Week.

Last year, we announced the inaugural HONOLULU Fashion Week as a two-day international fashion event taking place this November, a collaboration between HONOLULU Magazine and Japan Fashion Week. We’ve come a long way since then, expanding the event to four days at the Hawai‘i Convention Center (Nov. 6–9) and featuring more than 30 local designers in fashion shows and pop-up boutiques.

We’re excited to feature the talents of so many Hawai‘i designers and producers, and proud to say that more than half of our behind-the-scenes team is from here. Take Lynne Hanzawa O’Neill, who got her start inspecting fruit in the Dole pineapple cannery and now runs fashion shows and events all over the world. She’s been in the business for 35 years but still keeps an eye on what’s happening here at home. For HONOLULU Fashion Week, she’ll be producing the fashion shows and managing events.

There’s also Sig Zane, who is collaborating with Saturdays Surf NYC to make exclusive pieces you can purchase at the event. He and his son, Kūhaʻo, are both important members of the local fashion scene. Read more about them in the latest issue of HONOLULU Magazine, and on our website here.

There’s a wonderful spirit of ‘ohana bringing the event together (there are even two generations of the Koga family making it happen—John constructing the pop-up boutique and his daughter, Maile, supervising retail). Because that’s what the fashion community in Hawai‘i is—a family. And together we have a lot to offer.

Won’t you join us?
