Alan Wong’s Old Favorites

Get out your spoon: Classic Alan Wong’s menu items are making a short comeback in celebration of the restaurant’s 20-year anniversary. April 6–8, the five items returning are the “manapua” quesadilla, Chinatown duck salad with hoisin balsamic dressing, seared ‘ahi with Asian slaw and soy vinaigrette, grilled steak with bacon mushroom salad and the “Baked Hawai‘i.” The next group, being served April 9–11, includes five spoons of brulee, and April 12–14 features the “Surf and Turf” with wasabi mashed potatoes and truffle yaki sauce. Chef Showcase Dinner with Andrew Le

April 10

The Pig and the Lady chef Andrew Le brings his artistic take on local and Vietnamese food to LCC for this biannual showcase, which highlights local chefs and ingredients. The evening’s menu will feature a salad of sprouting seeds and seasonal fruit, sashimi, an octopus Bolognese over gnocchi, Shinsato Farm pork and a caramelized avocado cake, plus wine pairings by master sommelier Chuck Furuya.

Honolulu Brewers Festival

April 18

Here’s our plan: Go with eight friends, who will all receive 10 brew-tasting coupons, and take half-ounce sips from each sample. Double your friends for double the sips (or something. L’ulu: Leeward Culinary Arts Gala
