Aikido Ohana
|
Alex Tripp takes Alan Nagahisa to the mat using an aikido throw. Nagahisa’s dojo, The Aikido Ohana, will be joining more than 20 other aikido dojos from around the state and the world this month for Aikido Celebration 2011. It’s the 50th anniversary of the first and only visit made to Hawaii by Morihei Ueshiba, the founder of the martial art of aikido. His grandson, Moriteru Ueshiba, will be attending the celebration to demonstrate aikido techniques. The event takes place Feb. 19 to 21, in the McKinley High School gymnasium.
