Lei Chic Germany. The country behind many of man's modern marvels.

Luxury cars. Athletic shoes. Coffee makers. Heidi Klum.

And, thanks to swimwear designer Suzanna Kuhlemann, über chic swimsuits.

Behold, 1979's newest lineup of retro-style swimwear, now available at Hawaii Fashion Incubator Coop in Ward Warehouse.

Once again, Kuhlemann, who splits her time between Honolulu and Berlin, combined the vintage design elements of 1940s and '50s beach looks, à la Rita Hayworth and Shirley MacLaine, with sleek, modern silhouettes. The result: a series of basic, yet stylish, suits that are sexy without showing a lot of skin. Think gathered bandeau tops and high-waisted bottoms with fabric-covered buttons, delicate ruffles or seam details, and belted one-pieces with detachable neck straps and front skirts.

Lei Chic This time around, however, she's added subtle shaping elements, like sturdier lining and removable cups designed to enhance all body types, high-grade nylon spandex for extra comfort and durability, and stuck to solid colors, like black, red and purple, to underline the suits' classic, feminine look.

And while Hifi's selection isn't super extensive, Kuhlemann says more colors and styles will be delivered throughout the summer.

So you can stay ahead of the curve.

With a swimsuit that makes you look wunderbar.
