A Wine Tasting, Dinner and Contest

The next Wine Wednesday at Formaggio Grill happens this Wednesday, August 12th at 6p.m.

Wine Wednesday is an educational wine tasting with Master Sommelier Roberto Viernes. This edition of the event will try to unlock the mysteries and pleasures of Riesling. Sweet or dry this white wine is perhaps the most versatile white wine around.
Guests will have an opportunity to try six fine examples from around the world.
- 2002 Domaine Wachau Riesling, Wachau, Austria
- 2002 Domaine Weinbach Riesling Cuvee Reserve Personelle, Alsace, France
- 2003 Strub Niersteiner Hipping Riesling Spatlese, Rheinhessen, Germany
- 2007 Marquis Philips Roogle Riesling, South Australia, Australia
- 2007 Leitz Dragonstone Riesling, Rheingau, Germany
- 2006 JJ Christoffel Urziger Wurzgarten Riesling Kabinett, Mosel, Germany
The event cost is $40 inclusive of tax and tip, 6 wines, and bite sized tapas.

Then on Tuesday, August 25th, Formaggio Grill will host An Evening with Quintessa.

Quintessa Estate Manager Renato Cautela will present an exploration into the creation and the evolution of the Quintessa Wine Estate.
Guests will have a chance to be one of the first to try the new vintage release of Quintessa Red Meritage along with Faust Cabernet Sauvignon and Illumination Sauvignon Blanc (the first white wine to be released from the Quintessa property and now available in Hawaii).
The wines will be coupled with an incredible food menu prepared by Formaggio Grill chef Jesse.
This special dinner is available for $70 inclusive of tax and tip.
Seating will be limited to 24 people and reservations must be received by August 21,2009.

Formaggio Wine Bar and Grill has also announced a contest, the Formaggio Wine Minute, where you can win $5,000 by sharing why you love wine.
The Formaggio Wine Minute was conceived from a desire to educate the general population on all aspects of wine, from questions about the health benefits to what wines to bring to a backyard barbeque.
Then, taking that desire to another level, the Formaggio Wine Minute~YouTube contest was born with a $5,000 grand prize giveaway.
Recognizing that the contest was open to the world, company President Wes Zane also decided to call attention to Share our Strength, a non-profit organization that helps to fight hunger amongst children in America. Thinking this could be an opportunity to raise funds for this worthy charity, Zane requests a $1.00 optional entry donation. There is no purchase necessary to enter this contest, but you can donate to this charity via a PayPal link available on the site.
The contest is looking for the most original and creative 60 second video on "what you love about wine".
The deadline for all entries is Tuesday, October 1, 2009, at midnight EDT.
