A spacious Puunui home
|
Other than the fact that today’s featured home is huge, it’s not unique or remarkable. However, any time something becomes available in the Maemae Elementary School district, I feel compelled to let you know about it as a public service.

It’s kind of a McMansion compared with older homes in the area, tucked into the back corner of Puunui. Built in 2004, the 3,994-square-foot, two-story residence takes up most of the 5,000-square-foot lot; there’s also a huge, three-car garage. What little area there is for a yard is covered in concrete, so it’s a nice, low-maintenance property for busy people. (Click here for details.)

Upstairs, you’ll find three of the bedrooms and two of the bathrooms, a huge family room and a wet bar. The first floor has two bedrooms, one bathroom, an entertainment room and the kitchen and dining room. It’s “ohana eligible,” so you would have to apply for permission to split the home, but at least you have the option to do so.

There’s porcelain tile flooring, split air conditioning, and—my favorite part—hard-wired ethernet cables all over to keep you connected to the internet and minimize dropped signals.

Most likely, interested buyers for this home don’t care too much about the features; most will want to get their kids into Maemae School. For those unfamiliar, Maemae has long been known as one of the best elementary schools in Hawaii’s public school system, and district exceptions are almost impossible to come by. Many of the reviews say that Maemae provides private school-quality education, since the students, like some real estate bloggers you know, turn out high test scores.
This home will be open from 2 to 5 p.m. this Sunday.
