A Lobster Affair at the Kahala

 The month of August brings A Lobster Affair to the award-winning restaurants at the Kahala Hotel & Resort. Both Plumeria Beach House and Hoku’s will be featuring the succulent crustacean in specially designed set coursed menus from August 11th through the 24th.

The Kahala Hotel & Resort will also host a special celebration to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Hawaii’s statehood on August 21st featuring a performance by Hapa and beachside Hawaiian buffet.

A Lobster Affair starts on August 11th through August 17th at Plumeria Beach House. The restaurant will host a 3-course set menu featuring:

  • Lobster and mango poke;
  • Pan seared moi and butter lobster with truffle mash and lobster cream sauce
  • Pina colada panna cotta

Plumeria Beach House’s Lobster Affair menu is available for $45 per person (plus tax and gratuity).

The lobster love moves over to Hoku’s from August 18th through August 24th with a 5-course set menu.

Here’s a look at the courses in Hoku’s Lobster Affair menu:

  • Maine lobster tartar
  • Caribbean lobster consommé with housemade lobster ravioli and green apple essence
  • Butter poached Tristan lobster tail with roasted North Shore tomato coulis
  • Maine lobster risotto with caramelized baby fennel, leeks, and smoke
  • Banana’s Foster split

Hoku’s Lobster Affair menu is available for $75 per person (plus tax and gratuity).

The Kahala Hotel & Resort will be hosting a ‘In Celebration of Statehood With Hapa’ event on August 21st at 5:30 p.m. at Kahala O Ke Kai.

The event will mark the 50 years since Hawaii was admitted into the union as the 50th state. A Hawaiian buffet featuring local favorites such as poke, lomi lomi salmon, roasted whole pig with fina demi sauce; pulehu sirloin of beef with Maui onion jus; guava glazed pork ribs; macadamia nut crusted catch; huli huli chicken will be served. Guests will also enjoy a performance by the award-winning musical group Hapa (Barry Flanagan and Nathan Aweau) as they perform their repertoire of Hawaiian classics, with hula dancing by Miss Aloha 2002 Malia Petersen
