A-Line Goes Online

The miracles of modern technology are being put to good use with monthly collections from A-Line Hawai‘i.

Does it seem like certain star signs get all the love? Everyone's like, “Pisces will be patient and loving this month, with a burst of creativity and tons of new friends.” Our forecast, on the other hand, is all, “Stay away from Taurus, yo, that bull’s being her typical materialistic self.” Cut a star sister some slack, will ya?

We’re hijacking our horoscope for a monthly reading that's always good news: Introducing the new online boutique from A-Line Hawai‘i, by longtime local designer Lynn Sakutori. With plans to roll out new collections each month, it's an instant way to access Sakutori’s long-beloved wardrobe staples straight from the web. A-Line has been at Macy’s since 2013, but with the fresh monthly updates, you'll be able to snag pieces online different from the in-store offerings.

Look for the same thick, high-quality, durable fabrics that made the brand a hit for the past few years. Plus, the made-in-the-U.S. policy (including everything, from printing to dyeing to knitting) makes wearing these pieces easy on the mind. What's easy on the eye are the styles: forgiving, comfy cuts including swingy tunics and handkerchief dresses, with subtle details, such as tulip sleeves and keyhole backs, that really shine. Layering it on this winter and stripping down for spring is a total breeze with these basics which can also go from day to night. In fact, we see the maxi dresses and ruched cropped pants making appearances in our office, as well as evening ensembles—especially now that Sakutori’s gearing up for the holidays with a festive new set of prints.

You could say it's written in the stars.
