A Life of Art
![]() Hawaii lost one of its great artists in November, when Peggy Chun passed away at home, in the company of friends and family. Despite a six-year battle with the paralyzing effects of Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, commonly known as Lou Gehrig’s disease, Chun painted for as long as she was able, switching her paintbrush from her right hand to her left, then to her teeth, and, finally, painting with the aid of a computer using only the movement of her eyes. This portrait was shot by family friend Daria Polichetti in 2002. To see Chun’s work, visit www.peggychun.com.Photo: Courtesy of Daria Polichetti |
