A different way to see a home: Sunset open house

This is old hat to realtors, but a lot of consumers don't know that there are events called sunset open houses that show what a home looks like in the evening. These are primarily for realtors, but, like the Wednesday "brokers' opens," home shoppers are welcome to take a peek.

One reason to go to a sunset open, if a realtor holds one, is that most people work during the day-the way you'll see the house after work is the way you'll probably see it most of the time.

Realtors may also hold a sunset open if the house and/or the view looks exceptionally spectacular at night. And, because these events are not as common, realtors who have listings in the same neighborhood may plan to have it on the same night so brokers and shoppers can caravan.

Here are four sunset opens happening tonight from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., which seem interesting. Note to readers, if you aren't going with a realtor, make plans to be on time. These events shut down promptly at 7:30 without exception.
