Waimānalo Country Farms

Now through July 4

Daily (except Monday), 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. (last car in at 3:30 p.m.)

Last weekend of September through Veteran’s Day, Nov. 11

This 52-acre sunflower farm at the foot of the Ko‘olau Mountains boasts seemingly endless fields of the sunny bloom. During its 2025 Spring + Summer Sunflower Event, which runs from May 21 through July 4, you can explore the fields and snap photos (amateur photos only, professional photos require a special booking). The farm even has fun photo op areas, which include a tractor and a bathtub. Stop by the country market stand to purchase freshly cut sunflowers and head to the grub stand for grilled sunflower heads, fresh sweet corn, Nalo Made Lemonade and cornbread.

A tip: call ahead or visit the farm’s social media to check field conditions, which vary depending on recent weather conditions, to make sure the flowers are blooming. And if you miss the spring-summer bloom season, you can always visit in the fall—the fields reopen to the public the last week of September through Veteran’s Day, Nov. 11.

Keiki and Plow

Year-round

Tuesdays, Fridays and the second and last Saturdays of each month, 9 to 11 a.m.

The sunflowers here aren’t as plentiful as in Waimānalo, but this educational farm in Hawai‘i Kai usually has a few lovely rows in bloom year-round mixed into its acre of plantings. Several times a month, Keiki and Plow hosts open farm days during which families can explore the grounds, enjoy keiki play spaces, meet farm animals and fill U-Pick Baskets with fresh produce, eggs (if available) and blooms, including sunflowers.

Open farm day admission is $12 for keiki, $15 for adults, reservations required. U-Pick Baskets are $10 for small, $20 for medium, $40 for large. 587 Pākalā St., Hawai‘i Kai, (808) 208-2740, keikiandplow.org, @keikiandplow
