A Night to Celebrate Hawai‘i’s Culinary Stars
An intimate evening at the Kahala Hotel brought together Hawai‘i’s top chefs to toast this year’s Hale ‘Aina honorees.
On June 2, HONOLULU Magazine hosted its annual Hale ‘Aina Chef Reception presented by First Hawaiian Bank and Mastercard at the elegant Kahala Hotel & Resort—an evening filled with camaraderie, applause, and unforgettable food. The private event gathered some of Hawai‘i’s most respected chefs and restaurateurs to honor the winners of the 2025 Hale ‘Aina Awards, including two of the night’s most anticipated announcements.
In a special presentation, Giovedì was named Best New Restaurant, recognized for its bold Italian flavors and refined neighborhood charm. The prestigious title of Restaurateur of the Year went to Peter Kim of Yummy Restaurant Group, whose leadership and commitment have helped shape the local dining scene.
