On Sunday, June 8, a beloved voice in Hawai‘i’s music community, Jerry Santos, will once again fill the airwaves of PBS Hawai‘i. Santos, a longtime musician, composer and cultural treasure, returns to Nā Mele for an intimate evening of song and story.
This will be more than just a concert; it is a homecoming, as Santos has been part of PBS Hawai‘i’s Nā Mele series since 1999 when he first shared his music with viewers in a way that felt personal, timeless and deeply rooted in the spirit of aloha.

The upcoming performance brings together an extraordinary group of friends, both past and present, and blends traditional Hawaiian music with contemporary. Joining Jerry on stage is his longtime musical partner Kamuela Kimokeo, and bringing things full circle is Haunani Apoliona from the legendary group Olomana. The program also features hula dancer Nalani Badua and the esteemed kumu hula Frank Kawaikapuokalani Hewett. Viewers can expect to hear their favorite songs like “Ku‘u Home O Kahalu‘u” as well as a brand-new composition that has not yet been recorded.
