This award-winning play is so good that it inspired a Netflix hit, and it’s finally coming to Hawai‘i. The comedy-drama, written by Ins Choi and directed by Reiko Ho, follows a Korean Canadian family running a convenience store in Toronto. It’s sure to hit home with Hawai‘i locals thanks to storylines about multigenerational immigrant families, culture and community.

Hawai‘i Adaptive Surfing Championships

Friday, May 16, through Monday, May 19, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Cheer on more than 90 adaptive surfers as they compete across nine divisions as part of the AASP World Tour. Plus, catch the free film premiere of Finding True North, an inspiring documentary about quadruple amputee surfer Josh Bogle, on Friday, May 16, from 7 to 9 p.m. at ‘Alohilani Resort Waikīkī Beach.
