Independence Day is peak summer—a long weekend of cookouts and picnics with friends and family culminating in a dazzling fireworks show over the ocean. Wondering where to set up camp with your ‘ohana for the best views? Here are the places to be to catch 4th of July fireworks.

4th of July Celebration at Ala Moana Center

Tuesday, July 1, to Sunday, July 6

All week, Ala Moana Center merchants are offering exclusive deals. On Friday, July 4, don’t miss the live music at Centerstage and the ‘Ewa Wing Stage in the afternoon, plus DJ sets and cornhole games in the Mauka Wing. See the music lineup here, including local favorites like Henry Kapono, Kapena and Seven Suns. Plus, you can make an appointment to donate to the bloodmobile at the Atkinson Trolley Depot on July 4 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Kailua Chamber of Commerce 4th of July Parade

Friday, July 4, 10 a.m. to noon

Kailua will come alive with music and numerous vibrant floats designed by local businesses and organizations. The annual parade promises to be tons of fun and full of patriotic spirit.

Hale‘iwa 4th of July Fireworks & Community Festival

Friday, July 4, 1 to 9 p.m.

Hale‘iwa is pulling all stops to celebrate 4th of July with a vintage car show, food, crafts and retail vendors and live music. Since more than 15,000 people came to watch in past years, it’s best to come early to snag parking and a prime viewing spot in the park.

Independence Day Celebration at Schofield Barracks

Friday, July 4, 4 to 9 p.m.

Spend the evening at Schofield Barracks with holiday festivities that include a parachute demonstration by the Para-Commandos of the U.S. Special Operations Command, performances by Echosmith, Collective Soul, 25th Infantry Division and 312th Army Band and Stone Temple Pilots as well as bounce houses and games. Food and beverages will be available for sale. Stick around for the 4th of July fireworks at 9 p.m.

Friday, July 4, 4 to 9 p.m.

Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam is throwing America a birthday party with live music, food, activities and giveaways. Check out the Car Show & Shine and get a free temporary tattoo or balloon art. The fireworks start at 9 p.m.

The Polynesian Cultural Center invites you to Hukilau Marketplace for live performances by Boso Uso, North Kingdom, Natural Vibrations and Ekolu as well as inflatables, face painting, balloon twisting and food vendors. Bring your own umbrellas, chairs and mats. The fireworks start at 9 p.m.
