1. Innovative academic programs
Academic programs such as Chinese immersion, hands-on project-based learning, Mx Scholar and a partnership with Hawai‘i Pacific University (which offers an HPU associate of arts in general studies degree concurrent with a high school diploma and dual credit), that develop critical thinking and prepare students for global opportunities.

2. Community service
Following its motto, “Noblesse Oblige” (“To whom much is given, much is expected”), Maryknoll integrates community service into its curriculum to teach students the importance of giving back to the community. Requirements include planned community days by grade and a senior capstone project, a research-based project each student must complete during their senior year.

3. Student life and athletics
Maryknoll students are scholar-athletes who thrive on and off the court. There are more than 30 clubs and organizations to help students develop their cultural, social, spiritual, artistic, physical and academic skills and strengths. Maryknoll School is a member of the Interscholastic League of Honolulu (ILH) and fields more than 130 teams in 25 sports in grades 7 through 12.

5. Post-graduate success
Maryknoll graduates go on to competitive colleges of their choice, both here and on the Mainland. Of the 136 members of the class of 2018, 88 percent will attend a four-year college and 69 percent will attend a college on the Mainland, which include Columbia University, New York University and Stanford University.
