Best of Honolulu Festival 2017
Aug. 5
Enjoy an emporium of Honolulu’s best food and beverage products, restaurants, local goods, services, boutiques, arts and crafts, and more at the Second Annual Best of Honolulu Festival presented by American Savings Bank. The keiki village will have rides and activities for the whole family, as well as entertainment throughout the day.

Fifth Annual Obon Festival
Aug. 5
Hawaiʻi Byodo-In Temple, located within Valley of the Temples Memorial Park, celebrates its Fifth Annual Obon Festival. Though some Obon rituals are somber, it is also a festive time with entertainment, food and other refreshments.

Annual Obon Festival at Hawai‘i Byodo-In Temple

Headset on Second Friday at Bar Elixrs
Aug. 11
Rock out to drum and bass, dubstep, UK garage, breaks, grime and forward bass on the second Friday of every month. The August set features special guest Krucial/D&B (Subphonix). Residents include Monkey, Chump Change and Space Lizard. Ages 21 and older welcome.

Oʻahu Heart Walk
Aug. 12
The Oʻahu Heart Walk is designed to bring families and friends together to learn, share and practice lifestyle habits that will lead to healthier, longer lives, free of heart disease and stroke. Participation is free, but walkers are encouraged to raise money to support the association’s work.

Summer at the Swim Club at The Surfjack
Aug. 12
Get poolside for the third and final installment of The Surfjack’s summer pool party series that will feature art, music, poolside craft cocktails and more. Check out the latest swimsuits by San Lorenzo Bikinis, listen to sounds by Kyle Woods of Saint Heron and shop a pop-up store with Tala. Attendees must be 21 or older.

Heather Brown Art Show
Aug. 12
Head to the North Shore to see surf artist Heather Brown at the Wyland Gallery in Haleʻiwa. The Southern California native, whose art is in galleries around the world, will be meeting and greeting.

Taste of Chinatown
Aug. 26
This family-friendly celebration will feature artisan wares, cultural demonstrations and sample tastings from local eateries, including JJ Dolan’s, Little Village and Wing Ice Cream, to name a few. There will also be live entertainment from 10:45 a.m. through the end of the event.
