Watch Reyn Spooner Showcase Six Decades of Alohawear on the Runway

In 1961, a California native with an eye for fashion met a talented seamstress. The two, Reynold McCullough and Ruth Spooner, combined their artistic talents (and names) to form Reyn Spooner, an alohawear brand based in Hawai‘i.

At this year’s HONOLULU Fashion Week in November, showgoers will get to relive the incredible journey the fashion house has been on for more than 50 years. They’ll see the brand’s signature traditional-cut, reverse-print aloha shirts made from Spooner Kloth fabric, plus a diverse collection of collaborations that the brand participated in over the years. From streetwear label Stussy and Urban Outfitters to fashion powerhouse Opening Ceremony (whaaa?!), the smartly edited partnerships helped to grow the Reyn Spooner fan base globally.
