Bring your camera and your friends to the sixth annual Pow! Wow! Hawai‘i event. Blanks walls around Kaka‘ako are creatively transformed into urban masterpieces, which makes a great background for Instagram (and a beautiful walk through Kaka‘ako). The weeklong event is filled with music, talks, parties and, of course, a lot of art. This year, murals are creatively painted according to the theme, “Stranded in Paradise.” Attendees are encouraged to watch top artists from around the world paint on Kaka‘ako’s walls, and they can purchase commemorative merchandise from the Pow! Wow! pop-up shop at the Big Bad Wolf store. For the finale, director Jasper Wong decided to do things differently this year by adding a finale concert.
