Harlem Quartet

Violinist IImar Gavilan, violinist Melissa White, violist Jaime Amador and cellist Matthew Zalkind perform classical music together at Hawai‘i Theatre on Tuesday. The New York-based group, known for its fun classical/jazz performance of “Take the A Train,” has performed around the U.S. and the world.

Hanale Bishop Performs

Pow! Wow! Street Art and Fashion Pop-up in Waikīkī

Waikīkī will gets a taste of Honolulu’s local urban scene at this pop-up celebration with products by Big Bad Wolf, Roberta Oaks, Scott, in4mation and Fitted; a meet and greet with artists and designers; a live painting of the Pow! Wow! truck; and a live illustration projection with Jasper Wong. Brue Bar will also be on hand to serve specialty coffee and baked goods from Agnes Bake Shop.

UH Mānoa’s new Hawaiian Theatre program premieres its first production Friday with the traditional Hawaiian story of Lā‘ieikawai, adapted for stage by UHM theater professor Tammy Baker. The production will be performed in Hawaiian with no translations, but a synopsis will be provided.
