Quick Facts: Lawyer of the Year 2009 & Best Lawyers in Hawaii 2009

Darrah would say that he is proudest to have been the editor of the Hawaii Divorce Manual for 18 years, and the editor of the Journal of Hawaii Family Law for 20 years, believing as he does in the critical importance of continuing legal education. Darrah has also served as the instructor for the Family Court’s “Divorce Law in Hawaii” public education program on money issues in divorce for 8 years, and as the instructor of the divorce mediators for the Mediation Center of the Pacific for 12 Years. Trained in psychology, and originally destined to be a minister, Darrah credits his father’s advice and temperament in his career choice. What sets Darrah apart from others in his field, he believes, is his proven ability to handle the most financially complex matrimonial matters with skill and discretion. His advice to anyone facing divorce is to “find the best mediator you can, and get a good lawyer to support you. Divorce litigation is risky, costly, and harmful. The goal is a discreet, dignified, done right divorce, handled professionally in all respects, with no loose ends.”
