HASR Wine Dinners at Michel's

HASR Wine Co. will be hosting two special wine dinners at Hale Aina Award-winning restaurant, Michel’s at the Colony Surf.

The first takes place tonight, June 23rd, starting at 6 p.m. and will feature the wines of Chappellet Vineyards.

Chappellet’s Pritchard Hill estate vineyards were founded in 1967, and have been family owned and operated ever since. The rugged terrior of the vineyards produces wines with intensity and depth; the focus of the family is to achieve in their wines what we all need in life-balance.

Here’s a look at the 5-course menu prepared by Michel’s (and the Chappellet wine pairing):

  • Seafood Pot Pie
    Paired with a 2007 Chardonnay
  • Three-Duck Salad
    Paired with a 2006 Merlot
  • Big Island Veal Roll
    Paired with a 2006 Mountain Cuvee
  • Filet Mignon Blue Cheese Butter
    Paired with the 2006 Signature Cabernet Sauvignon
  • Chocolate-Dipped Cherries  with Casis

The second HASR Wine dinner at Michel’s at the Colony Surf will feature winemaker Dan Tudor and wines from Tudor and Radog. In a world of increasing mass production and mechanization, Dan prefers to select fruit from small, family-owned vineyards throughout the Monterey area and use traditional techniques like mixing by hand and aging in French barrels to craft these fine wines.

The Tudor Wine Dinner at Michel’s takes place on Monday, July 6th, starting at 6 p.m. It will feature an opportunity to enjoy live music & meet the winemaker, Dan Tudor!

  • Diver Scallop Wrapped in Duck Prosciutto
    Paired with Radog Rosé of Pinot Noir, 2006
  • Key West Turtle & Chicken Chowder

    Paired with Radog Pinot Noir, 2006
  • Pacific Salmon with Morel Mushroom Crust Tudor
    Paired with Pinot Noir, Santa Lucia Highlands, 2005
  • Veal Entrecote with Barley Mashed Potatoes
    Paired with Tudor Tondre Vineyard Pinot Noir, 2005
  • Big Island Goat Cheese Tartlet with Blackberries
