Tastes Like Summer

I’d been eyeing the “New: Apricot Pie” sign for weeks now at Good & Healthy Café, a hole-in-the-wall Lebanese restaurant downtown. After virtuously eating salad and hummus, I finally gave in to the siren song of that pie. Turns out, it’s not really a pie in the classic sense, but more of a firm, crumble-topped bar (you can pick it up with your fingers). The filling is just sweet enough, almost lemony—and the result is light, summery homemade goodness. I had it for dessert but I’d recommend saving it instead for that 4 p.m. snack urge, with a glass of milk. The apricot pie is cut into chunks, so you can share with your coworkers—that is, if you even want to share.

If you’re not into sweets, try Good & Healthy’s spanakopita or hummus—both are excellent.
