Breathing Love Book Launch Party

Learn about meditation in action as local author Jennie Lee releases her new book, Breathing Love. Her launch party will include a Hawaiian pulē, an invocation for peace, as well as meditation and discussion. My Vegan Chef and Ānuenue Tea will provide complimentary pūpū and kombucha. Books will be available for purchase and signing.

Are you ready for some football? Pitch Sports Bar at Salt at Our Kakaʻako is offering free admission to watch the Eagles and the Patriots face off, plus games, entertainment and giveaways. Premium catered tables are also available for $100. Event begins at 11 a.m.; kickoff is at 1:30 p.m.

Nerd Nite Honolulu

Get geeky on the first Tuesday of every month, when nerds gather to talk story, drink and hopefully learn something new. Three 15- to 20-minute presentations are interspersed with live music or DJs in a fun, casual atmosphere. February presentation topics include boat design, tattoos, and integrating science and art. Drinks will be available for purchase, but attendees are welcome to bring their own food.

Enjoy a showing of The Mermaid at Ward Village’s February Courtyard Cinema event. The subtitled Chinese film is a romantic-comedy fantasy. When tycoon Liu Xuan makes a fortune off sonar technology that kills off nearly every sea creature, Shan, a mermaid, is told to seduce and kill him. This is no easy task—because the two are in love. Rated NR, the 94-minute movie was directed by Stephen Chow and released in 2016.

Pow! Wow! Hawaiʻi 2018 Kickoff

Chinese New Year Celebration
