What: Now that the plastic-bag ban is in place, you’ve got a million reusable grocery totes. Good. You’ll need them for toting around goodies at the Arts and Flavors of Hawai‘i Food and Products show, where you’ll get your fix of fashion, food and accessories from local design veterans, including Florencia Arias (who will be showcasing her brand new summer line), Jana Lam, a.wattz jewelry and Pure Joy Hawai‘i. There will also be a coffee bar by Kope Coffee and macarons by The Sugar Hut.

What: Think you got what it takes to strut your stuff as a model? You’ll definitely want to head to The Summer Goddess 2015 Model Search this weekend, presented by Wilhemina Models. Wilhemina is joining up with European Wax Center for an open casting call in order to find the island’s best new talent and confident, beautiful ladies (we’re talking inside and out). A professional photographer will be on hand to shoot each entrant, and participants will score a complimentary brow wax.
When: Saturday, July 11, 11 a.m.–2 p.m.

Fry Not?

What: We say “boo” to Mondays. But thanks to our favorite joint for franks, Hank’s Haute Dogs, we have a little something to look forward to this coming Monday. So much so that we’re counting it as part of the weekend. In honor of National Fry Day (what glorious humans thought of giving fries a national day we don’t know, but we love them), Hank’s is giving out an order of its oh-so-‘onolicious fries with a dog for a mere dollar. Monday is starting to look pretty good, isn’t it?

What: Heather Brown, everyone’s favorite local surf artist, is at it again with a brand new “Sunrise Waterfall” piece that has all the good vibes we love about her work. The new masterpiece will be exclusively launched at her art show this Friday, where you’ll also be able to check out more of her fun-loving paintings, meet the lady behind the creations and score a personally signed Heather Brown artwork for your collection.
