Tasty Finds
What: As if 20 percent off the entire Butik store isn’t enough motivation to get you to Arts and Flavors of Hawai‘i’s Fashion Friday, wait till you hear the deets: Cut Collective brands Allison Izu, Ten Tomorrow and Rumi Murakami will be there, along with a new local swimwear line called Blithe Bikinis. We can’t wait to check out what Jana Lam and Pure Joy Hawai‘i bring, but we’re also getting ready to pounce on street food from Toko Express, the new food truck by Tokoname Restaurant and Sushi Bar, and dessert from Chocolate and Vanilla Bakery.
When: Tonight, June 12, 4–8 p.m.
Where: The Butik, 1067 Kapi‘olani Blvd., Suite A-3
Details: There will also be giveaways and exclusive discounts, so don’t miss out.

Living the Dream
What: You tried to be ahead of the fashion curve, but those overalls you thought were coming back in style turned out to be a total nightmare. Clear the air with your own handmade dream catcher at this workshop, in which you can include personal trinkets or broken jewelry, though instructors will provide materials.
When: Sunday, June 14, 11 a.m. (mini) and 2 p.m. (énorme)
Where: CHAI Studio, Ward Village
Details: $75 for a large, $30 mini. Reservations are highly recommended. And, hey, not all fashion dreams are bad.

What: Hot off their Nā Hōkū win for Alternative Album of the Year, the guys of Streetlight Cadence are ready to record their third album, Beyond Paradise. With an ambitious Kickstarter goal of $20,000, every little bit counts, so we’re sending the call out to help one our favorite local bands before they relocate to the Mainland this fall. The worst thing about Kickstarter? You don’t keep the money you raise unless you hit your goal, so tell your friends to pitch in and make it happen.
When: All pledges must be made by July 7, 10:20 a.m.
Where: kickstarter.com
Details: Some of the rewards for backers include the finished album (when you pledge $10), handmade accordion-reed jewelry ($60) and the band performing for your marriage proposal ($1,000).

Nothing But Clear Buys
What: Summer is a time for vacation, not sitting behind a desk. The best way to jet off in style? By using your HawaiianMiles, so you still have plenty of spending money when you get to your destination. And what better way to rack ’em up than at this weekend’s Buy & Fly event, where each dollar you spend at Kāhala Mall translates into five—five!—HawaiianMiles? There’s a minimum purchase of $75, but, c’mon, you’ll hit that in bikinis in the first store. If you need us, we’ll be by Macy’s, entering to win the big 40,000 Miles giveaway.
When: Sunday, June 14, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Where: Kāhala Mall
Details: In-store specials include a free Americano at Il Gelato when you order a panini, gifts with purchase at Macy’s, complimentary refreshments at Magnolia’s artist reception for Russell Lowrey and sales throughout the mall. Read more here.

Rock Star

What: Catch the final film in Interisland Terminal’s Doug Pray mini-documentary fest, Levitated Mass, the story of Michael Heizer’s massive boulder of a sculpture (literally) as it travels through SoCal in a giant trailer. Pray will introduce the film and hold a Q&A with the audience at the end, touching on his different interview tactics and styles.
When: Saturday, June 13, 6:30–9 p.m.
Where: Kaka‘ako Agora, 441 Cooke St.
Details: To celebrate its first anniversary, the Agora is holding a month of free programs called June KaBoom, including this event. See the schedule here.
