6 Pumpkin Drinks That Taste Like Fall in Hawai‘i

Nothing says fall like pumpkin. We’ve rounded up some of the best seasonal drinks you can try in Honolulu right now.

Here’s your fall to-do list:

  1. Visit a pumpkin festival.

  2. Make s’mores around a campfire with your friends.

  3. Drink all the pumpkin-flavored drinks you can.

To help you out with the third item on your list, we put on our favorite flannel shirt, dusted off our boots and went out in search of the best seasonal drinks in Honolulu.

1. Pumpkin Pie Latte

What’s better than a pumpkin-spice latte? A pumpkin-pie latte made with espresso roasted in-house and pumpkin sauce (instead of syrup), topped with a sweet cream cheese frosting and sprinkled with cinnamon. This drink made us want to curl up with a warm blanket and a good book for the rest of the day.

Local Joe, 110 Marin St., $4.65

2. Pumpkin Spice Milk Tea

On days when it’s a little too humid to order a hot drink, this iced black milk tea is refreshing enough to keep you cool, but still pumpkin-spiced enough to keep you in the fall mood.

Taste Tea, 1391 Kapi‘olani Blvd., Suite 105, $4.20

3. Pumpkin Crunch Smoothie

For a lighter (and probably healthier) pumpkin fix, this smoothie has got you covered. It’s a blend of pumpkin purée, almond milk, peanut butter, banana, cinnamon and granola.

HiBlend Health Bar and Café, 661 Ke‘eaumoku St., #105A, $7.95, hiblendcafe.com

4. Pumpkin Pie Ice Cream Shake

With our childhood favorite Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal blended in and sprinkled on top, real pumpkin purée and vanilla ice cream, this milkshake can only be described as pumpkin pie in a cup, with a hint of nostalgia.

Franky Fresh, 3040 Wai‘alae Ave., #B, $8.89

5. Rogue Farms Pumpkin Patch Ale

Pumpkin beer

If you’re not as much of a sugar fiend as we are, this beer is made with Rogue Farms pumpkins and hints of cinnamon, ginger and nutmeg for a seasonal drink that’s heavy on the pumpkin spice, light on the sweet and perfect for both fall and Rainbow Warrior season.

Growler USA Honolulu, 449 Kapahulu Ave., Suite 105, $2.99 for 5 ounces, growlerusa.com

6. Ye Olde Harvest

Ye Olde Harvest

Bartender Jordan Suyeto created this twist on an Old Fashioned using candied oranges made in-house with brown sugar and cinnamon, apple cider vinegar, chocolate bitters, pumpkin sauce made in-house and Four Roses Small Batch bourbon. This drink is a new invention and is available for the next two months.

Square Barrels, 1001 Bishop St., $12, squarebarrels.com
