1. Waikīkī Artfest

April 2

Embrace the world of creatives at this one-day-only festival, where various artists will display and sell their own pieces, including ceramics, glass, wood work, jewelry, fiber art, photography and fine art. There will also be live Hawaiian music by Ryan Tang, as well as shave ice.

2. Architecture Firm Crawl

April 7

If you’ve ever wondered what an architecture studio looks like or what an architect does, you’re in luck! AIA Honolulu has organized “Firm Crawl,” a day when numerous downtown architecture companies will open their doors to the public, inviting the community to learn more about the projects the firms are engaged in, as well as the architects behind those designs.

3. Oʻahu Festival Waikīkī

April 15

Enjoy food, retail and handmade products from local vendors along Kalākaua Avenue at this year’s Oʻahu Festival Waikīkī. Kalākaua Avenue will be closed between Seaside and Kapahulu avenues to host the festival. Though admission is free, a portion of anything you purchase from festival vendors will benefit Easter Seals.

4. Family Film Sunday

April 16

Take the ‘ohana on an outing to Doris Duke Theatre’s Family Film Sunday for a showing of The Little Prince (Le Petit Prince). The French film follows a young girl who lives an overscheduled life under her fiercely controlling tiger mother. She receives a respite in the form of her eccentric neighbor, the Aviator, who regales her with tales about the adventures of an unusual boy who lives on an asteroid.

5. Kona Nui Night at Ward Village

April 19

Honor and highlight hula, Hawaiian language and music. Free and open to the public, Kona Nui Nights is a monthly event held on the third Wednesday of every month. Free self-parking is available across the street, and a food vendor and cash bar will be on site. RSVP online.

6. 25th Annual I Love Kailua Town Party

April 30

Celebrate the silver anniversary edition of Kailua’s biggest event of the year: the “I Love Kailua” Town Party. Spend the last day of the month shopping, visiting various food booths from Kailua-area restaurants, listening to nonstop live entertainment and more.
