Listen up, ladies: As summer winds down, HONOLULU Magazine wants to raise a glass to all of you out there. That’s why we’re throwing you our first-ever Rosé Soirée. Celebrate the summer night with a glass (or three) of Clémentine Provence rosé wine. Here are five things you should know about the event.

1. It’s at a New Waikīkī Luxury Resort.

Formerly known as Pacific Beach Hotel, the ʻAlohilani Resort celebrated its grand opening in early May. Rosé the day away at the Swell Pool & Bar, named one of the 10 most Instagram-worthy pools in America by Instyle.com. Located on the fifth floor, the resort’s saltwater infinity pool overlooks Waikīkī Beach. Sipping wine poolside while watching the sun set over Waikīkī—what could be more ’grammable?

2. Rosé is Having a Revolution.

We’ve heard it on the grapevine and seen it trending on Instagram (#yeswayrosé). Rosé has become the wine for millennials; but, whether you’re celebrating your 21st birthday for the first or third time, as long as you hit that minimum age, we won’t discriminate. Did you know that the drink has become so popular that a two-story rosé mansion opened in Manhattan? According to Nielsen, the pink drink (which gets its color from the short soaking of red grape skins in grape juice) hit its peak sales for the summer season during the Fourth of July week last year and is still expected to continue growing in 2018.

3. There’s More Than Just Pink.

What goes better with rosé than a few apps? Stay tuned for details, but we can tell you this: expect small plates from some of Hawaiʻi’s top restaurants, including 12th Ave Grill and Stage Restaurant.

4. Make it a Girls’ Night Out With This Deal.

It is a Saturday night after all, so grab your gal pals or have a brosé (only real men drink pink).

For $1,000, receive eight general admission tickets and a cabana. Also part of the VIP experience: a double magnum bottle of Château d’Esclans’ Whispering Angel. Credited with starting the international rosé trend, Whispering Angel is ranked as the No. 1 selling imported French wine by Nielsen. Why spend the night in an overcrowded lounge when you can celebrate with your closest friends in a private poolside cabana?

5. Arrange a ride ahead of time.

Don’t let its light blush fool you— rosé can pack a punch. Make sure to call a friend or ride-hailing service to get you home safely. Or, if one of your besties offers to be DD for the night (which is still worth it, since she can eat all she wants), bring cash. Special event parking is $8 for self-park or $12 for valet. (Just be sure to buy her a drink next time.)

HONOLULU Magazine’s Rosé Soirée takes place Aug. 18 at ‘Alohilani Resort Waikīkī Beach, 2490 Kalākaua Ave., 5 to 8 p.m. Buy tickets here.
