3 Open Houses This Weekend

1. Plaza Hawaii Kai

The Plaza Hawaii Kai is one of only a few high-rises in the Hahaione neighborhood, so this 2-bedroom, 2-bath corner unit’s $887,000 list price isn’t unreasonable, especially with the unobstructed views of the marina, ocean, valley and sunset. Throw in a pool, a wraparound balcony, koa floors, renovated bathrooms and kitchen, a breezeway and even blinds in the bedrooms (the previous owners must’ve been so blasé about the sunset), and you’ve got an apartment with more to offer than most houses on the market.

Open House: Thu., 9/26, 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. at 6770 Hawaii Kai Dr. #509

Money Talk: $887,000
Contact: Sandra A. Fong, Sandra Au Fong. 469-4767
MLS: 201331108

2. Alapali Place

What does it take for a house to be worth more than $3 million?  For one, it helps to be in Diamond Head, with pristine views and a glass-tiled pool; a chandelier, marble and granite flooring, solar panels and a hobby room don’t hurt at all; and the fact that there are more bathrooms than bedrooms (four and a half to three) to accommodate everyone at the massive parties you’ll undoubtedly throw to show off your dream kitchens (yes, kitchens—there’s an outdoor one, too) is just icing on the cake. Even better, the gated, two-floor house sits in a cul de sac and is only 15 years old.

Open House: Sat., 9/21, 9-11:30 a.m. at 3017 Alapali Pl.

Money Talk: $3,050,000
Contact: Ned & Cindy Hawaii Real Estate, 596-2888
MLS: 201332379

Random: Most expensive for the least space

3. Trump Tower Waikiki

This single-room apartment in the Trump Tower is about half the size of the Plaza apartment, but costs $11,000 more. All that for an exercise room, a concierge and no parking spaces?  At least you can tourist-watch from your lanai (or in the hallway, since the building is also a hotel). Have fun sharing that heated pool.

Open House: Wed., 9/25, 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. at 223 Saratoga Rd. #802

Money Talk: $898,000
Contact: Hanako Hata, Starts International HI, Inc. 947-2280
MLS: 1301449
