“No hate in our Aloha State.” “Wāhine power.” “Pussies United.”
That’s the message that Hawai‘i women and their allies wanted to send to the new administration. Thousands of people united in Downtown Honolulu on Saturday, Jan. 21 for the Women’s March O‘ahu to make a point that women’s rights are human rights.
Marchers joined in solidarity with the Women’s March on Washington, a grassroots movement that took place in cities across the U.S. and abroad. The Women’s March is being dubbed as the largest demonstration in U.S. history attended by at least 3.3 million people.
