Learning is a joy on Saint Mark Lutheran School’s safe, quiet and spacious 2.5-acre campus. The K-8 (soon to be Pre-K to 8) school has created a caring ‘ohana since its founding in 1956 as part of Saint Mark Lutheran Church’s educational ministry.

“Saint Mark has a strong community feel, where every child is known and nurtured to integrate faith with life,” says Head of School Dr. David Gaudi. “Many families return for our strong academics and safe, loving environment.”

STUDENTS ACCEPTED INTO HIGH SCHOOL OF CHOICE

With over 60 years of academic excellence, the co-ed school has consistently prepared its graduates to be lifelong learners equipped with 21st-century skills to transition successfully to the high school of their choice. In 2018 Saint Mark students were accepted into private schools such as Damien, Hawai‘i Baptist Academy, ‘Iolani, Kamehameha, Le Jardin, Maryknoll, Mid-Pacific, Punahou, Saint Louis and Sacred Hearts.

DIVERSE OFFERINGS

Diverse offerings in art, music, technology and competitive sports enhance a rich and rigorous academic curriculum taught by fantastic faculty who make the spiritual, physical, social and emotional growth of their students a priority.

STRONG COMMITMENT TO FINANCIAL AID

Saint Mark continues its commitment to offer financial aid to increase accessibility to promising students and to promote diversity among its student body. Nearly half of students receive financial assistance from Saint Mark, as well as Kamehameha Schools’ Kipona Scholarship.

SAFE TO MAKE MISTAKES

“Saint Mark strives to provide a challenging and disciplined learning environment that is fun, exciting and full of God’s love. We create a caring atmosphere where students are challenged to do their best, yet feel safe to take risks with their learning. We want our students to be able to make mistakes knowing that God loves them, we love them, and failure is not fatal,” says Dr. Gaudi.

“Our teachers ensure that our graduates have learned to think critically and make informed decisions; practice the importance of respect and utilize their talents to glorify God and serve others,”

EARLY LEARNING CENTER COMING IN 2019

Saint Mark is excited to have broken ground on the Early Learning Center, a brand-new, two-story facility that will offer quality early childhood programs to preschoolers. Funded by a multimillion capital campaign, the facility is scheduled to open in fall 2019 and will house secure classrooms, collaborative learning spaces, a tech learning center and an outdoor play area.

“These early years set the foundation for learning. By extending our mission to families with three- and four-year-olds, we can ensure that, early on, they are prepared to excel intellectually, physically, socially and spiritually,” says Dr. Gaudi
