On the Lam

Lei ChicYour little one’s nursery rhyme friends are perfect for story time but don’t seem to be teaching any lessons in great style.

Sure, there is the old woman who loved shoes so much she lived in one - Unfortunately it was a combat boot she shared with a crowd. Wee Willie Winkie loved the night life but thought pajamas were acceptable attire for running through the town.

It’s time to start a new chapter in your child’s fashion life. Take notes from Mary and get yourself a little lam.

Lei Chic Jana Lam is known for her chic handbags she designs and silk screens by hand in her Manoa studio. Now she is using her sophisticated prints to add some panache and at little whimsy to children’s clothes.

Your baby won’t be a baa baa black sheep in an onesie decorated with a quizzical lamb on a colorful patch. She’ll be a queen of your heart in sweetly adorned tank top and comfy karate pants or be anything but contrary when she dons a sweet peony on a swatch of polka dotted fabric.

Since every adorable adornment is created from remnants of Lam’s hand-printed patterns each outfit is as unique as the child wearing it

Making it easy to add some twinkle, twinkle to your little star.

Jana Lam’s children’s clothes and bags are available at Super Citizen, 22 S. Pauahi St. or online at Janalam.com.

You can also see her collection as well as some brand new pieces at the Lei Chic Pop-Up Boutique, Sept. 16 and 17 at the Mercedes Benz of Honolulu Showroom at 818 Kapiolani Boulevard.
